midnightcity is proud to present the Artist Mix Series—a curated space for forward-thinking sounds and emerging artists. Kicking off the series, we've teamed up with Vancouver-based DJ and producer WERK. Devin sets the tone with an exclusive selection of IDs, crafted for midnightcity.ca.

“Thank you for having me kick off this mix series! I’m grateful to be part of something so special at its very beginning.
Recording this mix was meaningful to me because the past few months have been deeply formative and impactful. I wanted to capture some of those emotions in my track selection. There’s something beautiful about electronic music—it’s like hearing a song in a language you don’t understand, yet still feeling every emotion it carries. I believe that mixing multiple tracks together creates a journey, telling a story that reflects an artist’s influences, mood, and feelings at that moment in time.
Brandon and I met years ago through a mutual friend, Lunice, when he was capturing one of his many brilliant performative events. When he shared his vision for midnightcity before its launch and asked me to contribute a track or mix, I felt honoured, excited, and had absolutely no hesitation. I knew instantly how I wanted to approach it—this moment in time felt like the perfect opportunity to create something unique, then break it down and explore the meaning behind several tracks within it.
This mix features unreleased music from my dear friends, along with some of my own work and tracks I simply can't stop playing.”
